Our Wine

One of the advantages of our vineyard is that the fruit ripens a bit later than the other sub-regions in Central Otago because of the cool climate, so that buys us a bit of time for the grapes to hang there and build flavour. We tend to have a little bit more complexity and good acidity. Acid is what holds our wine together so we work with that as much as we can to give the wine a bit of succulence, a moreish taste. It makes the wine linger a little bit longer on your palate.  Another factor is the age of the vines which were planted 22 years ago and are now coming into their own.

Central Otago Pinot Noir 2024
With its ruby glow reminiscent of a stormy dusk, this elegant and expressive Pinot Noir captures the essence of Central Otago. Aromas of ripe plums and cherries intertwine with dried herbs while on the palate, youthful tannins and a vibrant acid line carry flavours of red berries and stone fruit, leading to a subtle, savoury finish with whispers of dried herbs.  A wine of depth, balance, and undeniable character.

Review from Cam Douglas - 93 points
"Raspberry and ruby core with a youthful pink hue at the rim, highly polished and looking very new. Aromas of cherry and raspberry flesh then wild red flowers, violet and a touch of dried herb with savoury earthy qualities. Some newer barrel scents led by vanilla spice and sweet wood. There's a lees and gentle reductive seam adding complexity as well. On the palate a dry wine with a fleshy texture contrasted by a youthful structure  from tannins and acidity. Fruit flavours are at the core reflecting the bouquet adding in combination with the structure deliver a wine of poise and tension with a youthful and lasting quality. Well made with best drinking from 2027 through 2031+."

Central Otago Pinot Noir Rosé 2024
With its bright pink hue reminiscent of a Central Otago sunset, our Pinot Noir Rosé is a true
expression of elegance and refinement. Each sip reveals layers of ripe red berries,
candyfloss and watermelon notes which dance gracefully on the palate.

Review from Cam Douglas MS - 91 Points,
"Aromas and flavours of red melon and raspberry, red cherry and roastd pears. As the wine touches the palate layers of white spice and lees meld with core flavours fruit. Contrast comes from the acidity and lees textures, a wine ready to drink from Summer 2025 through the same in 2026."

Central Otago Chardonnay 2024

With its golden hue glistening like the first light of dawn, this Chardonnay invites you to
embark on a sensory journey. Each sip reveals complex flavours of summer fruit, spices and
a hint of toasted oak.

Review from Sam Kim - 94 points
"Gorgeously styled and expressed, the inviting bouquet shows golden peach, rockmelon, vanilla, oatmeal, and elegant oak aromas, followed by a wonderful palate offering succulent fruit flavours with creamy texture and bright acidity. Harmonious and complex, making it highly enjoyable. At its best: now to 2032."

Our Vintner:
Antony Worch (and partner Marion Vialade), first came to New Zealand from France in 2005 for a vintage experience in Central Otago. They fell in love with the country, the wine and the kiwi lifestyle and now call New Zealand home.

After graduating with a Master in Winemaking and Vineyard Management in Montpellier (France) Antony and Marion both gained experience in their home regions of Alsace and Languedoc with Clos St Landelin and Mas Amiel before venturing abroad to work at Hamilton Russell in South Africa and New Zealand.
